SINOTRUK Science & Technology Center

 

SINOTRUK Science & Technology Center Project includes the National Heavy-duty Truck Engineering Technical Research Center unique in China and approved by Ministry of Science and Technology, National Heavy-duty Truck Quality Supervision and Inspection Center approved by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) and National Enterprise Technical Research Center, and it is a “three-in-one” science & technology center.

 

SINOTRUK Science & Technology Center Project occupies the total area of about 400mu, with planned overall floorage of 438,000m2, to be constructed by two phases, commenced on July 19, 2011 officially. As to Phase-I, the approved total investment for infrastructure construction has reached RMB 1.4 billion and the overall floorage has reached 320,000m2; wherein, the building area of Science & Technology Mansion, truck exhibition hall, 8 test workshops and public station room of the park is 195,000m2; the building area of 8 high-rise buildings of the “1956” Real Estate Development Project is 125,000m2, and civil construction is to be completed at the end of 2015. Relying on efficient construction with top quality as well as design concept of energy conservation and environmental protection, Science & Technology Mansion received the highest award in quality at the main body structure construction stage of Shandong Province, i.e. “Excellent Structure of Building Engineering of Shandong Province”, and won two big prizes, i.e. “The Third Group of Green Construction Demonstration Projects in the National Building Industry” and “New Technology Promotion and Demonstration Projects”. As a key project in Jinan City of Shandong Province, SINOTRUK Science & Technology Center also won the highest award of safe and civilized construction of Shandong Province – Provincial “Safe and Civilized Demonstration Construction Sites”.

 

Planning and design of Phase-II mainly focuses on passenger bus, light-duty commercial truck and new energy projects; and Phase-II mainly includes 2 comprehensive buildings and 7 truck test workshops. Science & Technology Mansion is the core building of the park and was officially put into operation on August 16, 2015. The part above the ground of this Mansion is 36 floors, with total building height of 173.75m. The overall floorage of the Mansion is 108,000m2, the part above the ground is 60,000m2, the part under the ground is 48,000m2, and hardware facilities are designed according to 5A office building standards. The overall model of the Mansion refers to the tendency of spring water upwelling, which shows a perfect combination of spring and water, and dynamic and static states and embodies the implied meaning of never-ending improvement and growing, and stands for vigorous development of cause of SINOTRUK. The Mansion roots in the ground and comes up to the sky, echoing eastern lotus and western willow of Olympic Sports Center, which is called “eastern lotus, western willow and spring all over the world”, adding a new building scene with cultural characteristics for Jinan City, and becoming a new name card of Jinan City.

 

The overall floorage of 8 completed test workshops is 56,400m2, including complete vehicle, engine emission, engine performance, auto part, truck electrical apparatus and material, vehicle body model, and strength testing laboratories, which form all-round calibration, test and verification capabilities covering heavy-duty vehicle and core assembly part products.

 

Science & Technology Center is an “organization for detecting emission pollution of newly produced vehicles” appointed by Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China,and it is an “organization for compulsory detection of truck products (CCC)” appointed by Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA), an “organization for detection and experiment of vehicle products with defects” appointed by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ), and an “organization for detecting fuel consumption amount of road transportation vehicles” appointed by Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China (MOA). At present, the completed Phase-I laboratory is newly equipped with 129 sets of domestic and foreign equipment and there is 459 sets of instruments and equipment in total now; among them, 48 sets refer to important imported comprehensive systems, with equipment investment reaching RMB 500 million. After the whole project is completed, the total equipment investment will exceed RMB 1 billion.

 

New laboratory focuses on enhancement of test and verification capabilities of heavy-duty truck vehicle, engine performance and emission, gearbox, axle and various key assembly parts. It owns the complete vehicle driving simulation system with the highest level and the largest total truck mass at home under extreme (polar) conditions, and the test temperature may reach -45- +60 °C. It owns a comprehensive testing system for testing engine emission control level which is the most advanced internationally; it is a domestic authoritative unit which formulates national standards for vehicle emission, has completed the formulation of National 0-National 5 standards for heavy-duty truck, and now it is formulating National 6 standard. In addition, it owns the sole semi-anechoic special standard test chamber of domestic truck and engine industry, and is able to realize data collection and processing functions of noise testing and sound source identification; and it owns heavy-duty truck light detection laboratory of domestic advanced level, and is able to complete truck light compulsory legal detection items specified by UNECE and in FMVSS and national standards.

 

The completion of heavy-duty truck detection laboratory makes SINOTRUK create the domestic first-class level in the aspect of vehicle equipment test capability of heavy-duty truck. Equipment conditions for testing of complete vehicle, engine noise and dynamic inclination have been in line with international level basically and have reached international advanced level. Science & Technology Center has become a heavy-duty truck test and detection base with the largest testing power and the most complete equipment at home.

 

Phase-II project of the test base in the design will be constructed in the 100mu reserved region. It will be connected with main stream of international truck industry development, includes construction of new energy laboratory, truck electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) module and truck noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) laboratory, and it will guide technical R & D capability of heavy-duty truck of our country to stride forward to international advanced level constantly.

 

“The completion of “Three Centers” will certainly promote constant improvement of overall technical level of heavy-duty truck of our country, accelerate promotion and application of high-end technology in the heavy-duty truck field of China, further shorten the gap between the industry and international advanced level, and enhance core competitiveness of heavy-duty truck industry of China fundamentally, so as to make a new contribution to driving healthy and rapid development of heavy-duty truck industry of China and promoting the heavy-duty truck field to gradually realize the leap from “Made in China” to “Created in China”.
