A Touch of Azure - Sinotruk’s Products Unveiled at the IAA Transportation in Germany

On September 17, 2024, the brilliant 'feast' of the commercial vehicle industry - the IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover, Germany was officially launched. At this exhibition, with the theme of 'Zero to Hero”, Sinotruk established a shocking showroom. Its seven ingenious models fully demonstrated its firm belief in developing in a green, intelligent and efficient direction.

0.286-drag coefficient - Once again broke through the low drag coefficient limit of commercial heavy trucks

On September 16, the day before the launch, Sinotruk officially released the newly upgraded Yellow River hydrogen internal combustion engine traction tractor. The drag coefficient of 0.286 once again broke through the low drag coefficient limit of commercial heavy trucks, adding a bright 'Chinese azure' to the exhibition.

The truck is designed from the concept of water drops. The cab adopts a streamlined shape imitating water drops. The waistline is narrow at the front and wide at the rear (the size of the front end of the cab is 2150mm and the rear end is 2500mm). The overall water drop shape provides a foundation of ultra-low wind resistance. The design of the trailer cleverly incorporates the bionic 'fish back' drag reduction concept, and the ultimate drag coefficient performance has set a new Guinness World Record for driving 4,871 kilometers with only one tank of fuel fully loaded. In terms of intelligent design updates, more than 20 active and passive drag reduction technologies, such as active air intake grille, electronic rearview mirror, hidden door handle, and full vehicle detailed fluid guidance, help to reduce the drag coefficient to as low as 0.286, save as much as 15% energy, further break through the limit of low drag coefficient.

7 models - Belief in green and intelligent development

In addition to the newly upgraded Yellow River hydrogen internal combustion engine traction train, Sinotruk also displayed 7 other models including SITRAK hydrogen fuel cell tractor, HOWO Commander pure electric light truck and Bolden pickup. These models covered multiple segmentations including heavy trucks, light trucks, new energy, and light vehicles, fully demonstrating Sinotruk's rich product line and strong market power.

Among them, the SITRAK tractor using electric drive axles, with a cruising range of up to 450km, is mainly designed for trunk logistics transportation. It adopts a three-motor configuration, its power can reach 825kw, the maximum output torque reaches 75000 N·m, the transmission efficiency is more than 94.5%, and the power is strong.

Sinotruk Commander pro new energy light truck adopts a 100kWh mid-mounted blade battery pack and enables 20%-80% energy replenishment in 20 minutes. It has 140kW peak power, can increase the output torque by 50% through a two-speed integrated electric drive axle, and reduce the comprehensive energy consumption by 10%.

As a rising star of Sinotruk, Bolden pickup is equipped with Weichai Power WP2H2.0 T diesel engine with a maximum power of 140kW and a peak torque of 420 N·m. It also adopts Sinotruk's self-developed 8AT transmission. Six advanced technologies make it possible for the pickup to start instantly at nearly 40 ℃ below zero; Through the innovative use of Adblue dual injection technology, the speed and torque limit of pickup trucks are effectively avoided.

Zero to Hero - Drops of water gather into rivers and the sea

During IAA, Sinotruk exhibited with the theme of 'Zero to Hero', which implies the 'drop of water' element derived from hydrogen energy emissions. In ancient oriental culture, water is the source of all things, symbolizing Sinotruk's initial intention and firm belief in the field of new energy. Little drops of water can gather into 'rivers and the sea'! When heading towards the global target of low-carbon and zero-carbon, every breakthrough of Sinotruk will contribute to the green industry ecology and gather innovative forces to rush forward.

Based on its twenty years of hard work and in-depth understanding of the international market, Sinotruk has set off again towards environmental protection and technological intelligence with sky blue as the main tone and 'a drop of water' as the based point. In Hannover, Germany, on the stage of global commercial vehicle exhibition, it demonstrated the 'business card of Sinotruk' from a giant eastern country.
