In the afternoon of February 8, Qingdao City had an informal discussion with Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Weichai Group. Zeng Zanrong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, Zhao Haozhi, deputy secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and mayor of Qingdao, Tan Xuguang, Party secretary, chairman and general manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, chairman of Weichai Group and chairman of SINOTRUK, attended the event.

Shandong Heavy Industry Group is a multinational group with global influence in industrial equipment, and its business direction is highly compatible with Qingdaos industrial layout, so they have a good foundation for cooperation. It is hoped that Shandong Heavy Industry Group will further exert its advantages in industry, technology, talent, and other aspects, increase investment in Qingdao, gather more high-quality resources in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, and promote pragmatic cooperation between the two sides to achieve more fruitful results. Tan Xuguang introduced the development situation of Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Weichai Group in 2023, and expressed gratitude for the support given by Qingdao governments. Before the meeting, Tan Xuguang visited the Weichai (Qingdao) Intelligent Heavy Industry Manufacturing Center and the Weichai (Qingdao) High-end Marine Equipment Manufacturing Center to investigate the operation of the enterprises.
