Strengthening National Security Defenses and Building a Law-Based State-Owned Enterprise Brand | Shandong Heavy Industry Hosts 2025 National Security Education and Legal Awareness Campaign Series

National security is the foundation of national rejuvenation, and the rule of law is a strong safeguard for maintaining national security. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the enactment of the National Security Law, and April 15 is the 10th National Security Education Day. To fully implement the national security strategy, Shandong Heavy Industry Group, in collaboration with SINOTRUK, launched the 2025 National Security Education and Legal Awareness Campaign Series, with active participation from all affiliated companies. The campaign, themed “Ten Years of National Security Education for All: Deepening and Implementing the Vision”, aims to raise legal awareness through various initiatives, including specialized training sessions, video screenings and exhibitions, uniting all employees in a powerful collective effort to safeguard national security, strengthening their commitment to the rule of law, and building a “Great Wall of Steel” to protect national security.

The training sessions invited security experts to deliver on-site lectures on Cybersecurity on April 15 and Data Security Law on April 18. More than 470 employees from Shandong Heavy Industry Group and its affiliated companies participated in the training, both online and in person.

The cybersecurity training provided participants with an expert-level overview of both global and domestic cybersecurity developments, China’s latest cybersecurity initiatives, and strategies for building cybersecurity awareness and prevention. The session highlighted the security challenges faced in the five domains (land, sea, air, space and cyberspace). Real-world case studies illustrated the importance of establishing robust cybersecurity emergency response systems. Through interactive discussions, participants gained deeper insights into the risks associated with weak passwords. The training played an active role in further enhancing the company’s cybersecurity management and fostering continuous improvement.

The Data Security Law training focused on ten critical areas of security risks, including account and password protection, virus prevention, internet safety, online transaction security, email security, workstation security, office environment safety, mobile device security, wireless network security and sensitive information protection. The session provided participants with preventive recommendations to mitigate risks in each area. It also offered a systematic explanation of the framework for key data security systems, covering the corporate data classification and grading catalog, data security review processes, and mechanisms for data security risk assessment and emergency response. Against the backdrop of pervasive internet vulnerabilities, the training provided clear guidance on how to effectively safeguard corporate data assets, laying a solid theoretical foundation for the company’s future data security efforts.

In addition to organizing specialized training sessions, Shandong Heavy Industry Group played the Guardian: A Decade of Protection video for April 15 National Security Education Day (415) on continuous loop on monitors in stairwells, and placed 415 promotional posters in high-traffic areas such as the cafeteria, lobby and hallways. These efforts ensured that employees were constantly reminded of the importance of safeguarding national security, the complexity of cybersecurity challenges and the urgency of protecting data security.

The National Security Education and Legal Awareness Campaign Series held in April enabled all employees of Shandong Heavy Industry Group to gain a deeper understanding that information and data security are critical lifelines for the company and require constant vigilance. Data is the company’s core asset. In digital age, customer information, business data and technical documents are not only essential to operations but are also fundamental to earning customer trust and fulfilling corporate social responsibility. A single data breach could lead to financial losses, legal disputes, or even irreparable damage to the company’s brand reputation. The risks are everywhere. Therefore, the company must adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward data security vulnerabilities, work together to strengthen national security defenses, and strive to build a model of legal compliance and excellence as a state-owned enterprise.
